Room to Read Canada is a registered charity dedicated to improving literacy and gender equality in education for children in low-income communities around the world. As part of the global Room to Read organization, the Canadian branch supports programs that focus on developing literacy skills and fostering a love of reading among primary school children, as well as empowering girls to complete secondary school with the skills necessary to succeed in life. The charity works by partnering with local communities, governments, and schools to establish libraries, distribute culturally relevant books, train teachers in effective literacy instruction, and provide mentorship and life skills training for girls. Room to Read Canada engages Canadian donors, volunteers, and advocates to fundraise and raise awareness about the transformative power of education, believing that education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and creating a brighter future for children worldwide.
