Makeway Foundation

Let's make way for nature and communities thriving together

The MakeWay Foundation is a Canadian charity dedicated to fostering environmental and social justice by supporting initiatives that create positive change in communities across the country. Formerly known as Tides Canada, MakeWay collaborates with individuals, organizations, and philanthropic partners to address pressing issues such as climate change, conservation, Indigenous rights, and community well-being. The foundation operates by providing shared platforms, expertise, and resources to grassroots projects and movements, enabling them to thrive and scale their impact. MakeWay is particularly committed to empowering marginalized communities, including Indigenous peoples, by amplifying their voices and supporting their leadership in protecting land, water, and cultural heritage. Through innovative partnerships and a focus on systemic change, MakeWay works to build a more equitable and sustainable future for all Canadians.
