The Generosity Movement is a Canadian storytelling and civic-engagement initiative by Anita Wing Lee and Timothy Muttoo. It exists to relieve poverty, advance education, protect and preserve the environment, and encourage civic engagement and volunteerism. We build a culture of generosity by creating compelling media and community programs that inspire people to take meaningful action for the public good. At our core, we use storytelling, fundraising, and global development initiatives to turn inspiration into measurable impact. Through videos, blogs, documentaries, campaigns, and social media, we spotlight real stories of need, hope, and everyday generosity — then connect audiences to clear next steps such as giving, volunteering, learning, and participating in community-driven solutions. The funds and momentum generated through these projects support humanitarian development initiatives including clean water access, education, and community resilience. To achieve this, The Generosity Movement produces digital and live programming that mobilizes Canadians toward charitable giving and volunteerism, partners with aligned organizations to highlight tangible ways to serve, and hosts workshops and events that help individuals grow in practical generosity. We also commit to transparent impact reporting that tracks outcomes such as volunteer hours mobilized, donations inspired, and levels of community engagement. The Generosity Movement is inspiring civic engagement by helping people see what’s possible — and equipping them to participate in it.
