The Coast Conservation Endowment Fund Foundation (Coast Funds) is a Canadian charitable organization dedicated to advancing First Nations’ goals for environmental conservation and sustainable economic development in the Great Bear Rainforest and Haida Gwaii regions of British Columbia. Established in 2007 as part of a historic conservation agreement between Indigenous Nations, the provincial and federal governments, environmental groups, and private donors, Coast Funds supports First Nations in stewarding their traditional territories while fostering community well-being. The foundation delivers funding for First Nations’ stewardship, conservation, and Guardian programs. By working in partnership with First Nations, Coast Funds empowers communities to lead conservation efforts, strengthen their governance, and pursue long-term sustainability goals. Through its funding and collaborative approach, the foundation plays a vital role in preserving one of the world's most ecologically significant regions while promoting Indigenous self-determination and resilience.
