The Aboriginal Sport Circle (ASC) is Canada’s national voice for Indigenous sport, physical activity, and recreation, dedicated to fostering the health, well-being, and cultural pride of Indigenous communities through sport and active living. Established in 1995, the ASC works to support Indigenous athletes, coaches, and communities by promoting equitable access to sports programs and opportunities while respecting and incorporating Indigenous traditions and values. The organization plays a pivotal role in advocating for the inclusion of Indigenous perspectives in the broader Canadian sports system and provides leadership in the development of culturally relevant programs, such as the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) and the National Aboriginal Coaching Awards. By empowering Indigenous youth and communities through sport, the ASC aims to inspire positive change, strengthen cultural identity, and contribute to reconciliation efforts across Canada.
