The Aboriginal Mother Centre Society (AMCS) is a Vancouver-based charity dedicated to empowering Indigenous mothers and their children by providing a safe, supportive environment and essential resources to help them thrive. The organization focuses on breaking the cycle of poverty, homelessness, and systemic barriers faced by Indigenous families, offering programs that promote healing, growth, and self-sufficiency. At the heart of AMCS is its 16-unit transitional housing facility, which provides a secure space for mothers and their children to rebuild their lives while accessing critical services. The charity also offers culturally relevant programs, including parenting workshops, life skills training, counseling, and employment readiness initiatives, all rooted in Indigenous traditions and values. Additionally, AMCS operates a community kitchen and daycare, ensuring families have access to nutritious meals and childcare support. By fostering a sense of belonging and community, the Aboriginal Mother Centre Society plays a vital role in helping Indigenous mothers and their children overcome challenges and build brighter futures.
